‘Transmit’ FTP Client – Best thing since cascading stylesheets!
“You need Transmit, the #1 Mac OS X FTP client.¹Now, in Transmit 4, we took everything good about Transmit, and added a dollop of unbelievably great.”
I’m going to keep this short and sweet and strictly emotional…and partially technical…since I know that’s what you guys care about.
So what makes it so awesome you say? Well, everything…It allows me to simultaneously browse servers, dragging and dropping files at lightning-speed from one to another. It gives me the ability to mount the servers to my Macbook Pro…giving them the functionalities of a system folder. I can live-edit hidden files and folders, including changing permissions of full directories and no I’m not naïve, I know you can do this on other clients but it just ain’t the same! I can sync my content delivery providers and a huge plus right out the box is that it imports bookmarks from most other common FTP clients.
The biggest advantage Transmit offers me is speed and ease-of-use. I’ve quickly outgrown other clients. This is a program that I can seriously guarantee to any web designer.

I tried my share of FTP clients in my day.. form the lows of using Windows Explorer (not terribly awful) to the euphoria of clients like FileZilla and then realizing I found gold with Transmit. I will never use another client (I know, I know…you should never say never)…
